Introduction
Invite codes
What invite codes are, how to redeem one, and the limits you can put on them.
Invite codes
Kepeink is invite-only for now. An invite code is a short string that lets a new person sign up. Some codes do more than admit you — a code can also grant free credit or unlock a feature on your account. This page explains what codes are, how to redeem one, and the limits a code can carry.
What an invite code is
An invite code is a single-use string that a current Kepeink user (or the team) hands to someone they want to bring in. While signups are invite-only, presenting a valid code is what lets a brand-new email create an account.
A code can carry more than the right to sign up:
- Sign-up access — admits a new email during invite-only signup.
- Free credit — adds usage credit to your workspace when redeemed.
- A feature unlock — turns on an add-on feature for your workspace.
A single code can combine these — for example, one that admits you and adds some starter credit in the same step.
Redeem a code when you sign up
The invite code field is not on the main sign-in form. You only see it if the email you enter is not already allowed in.
- Open the sign-in page and enter your email.
- If your email is not on the list yet, a panel appears asking for an invite code. Paste your code there.
- Continue. Your account is created and any credit or feature the code carries is applied right away.
If someone sent you an invite link, opening it pre-fills the code for you, so you just enter your email and continue, no pasting needed.
Redeem a credit or feature code from inside the app
Already have an account and someone gave you a code for credit or a feature? You do not need to sign up again. Redeem it from the dashboard:
- Go to Billing.
- Choose Redeem a code.
- Paste the code and confirm.
The credit or feature applies to your current workspace. Redeeming the same code into the same workspace twice is safe — it never double-applies.
Limits a code can carry
Codes can be issued with limits. Depending on how a code was made, it may be:
- Single-use or multi-use — most invites are single-use, so once someone signs up with it, it is spent. Some codes allow a set number of uses.
- Locked to one email — a code can be bound to a specific address, so only that person can redeem it.
- Time-limited — a code can have an expiry date, after which it stops working.
What "this code isn't valid" means
If redeeming fails, the code is one of these:
- Wrong — a typo, or a code that never existed.
- Expired — past its expiry date.
- Already used — a single-use code that someone already redeemed.
- For a different email — bound to an address that is not the one you entered.
FAQ
I have a code but the field isn't showing. The code field only appears once Kepeink sees an email that is not allowed in yet. Enter your email on the sign-in page first, and the invite-code panel will appear.
My code says it's for a different email. That code is locked to a specific address. Sign in with the exact email it was issued for, or ask whoever sent it to issue one for the address you want to use.
Can I reuse a code? Single-use invites cannot be reused — once someone signs up with one, it is spent. If you need to bring in more than one person, get a fresh code for each.
My code expired. Codes can have an expiry date. Ask whoever sent it for a new one.
Do I need a code if I already have an account? No. Existing users always sign in normally. You only need a code to unlock credit or a feature, and you redeem that from Billing → Redeem a code.
Invite someone yourself
Already have an account and want to bring someone in? You can generate your own single-use invites from the dashboard. See How to invite people for the step-by-step.
