Manage files in a browser
Set up a private browser file manager for a folder on your agent machine.
The agent lets signed-in visitors browse, upload, download, create, and delete files in one folder through your tunnel's HTTPS URL.
Before you start
Choose a folder the agent can read and write. Use its absolute path, such as /srv/shared; ./shared will not work. Only put files there that you want the invited visitors to manage.
1. Create the tunnel
In the dashboard, create a tunnel with Backend mode: files and Folder path: /srv/shared (replace it with your path). Copy its kpt_… agent token and keep it private.
Open the new tunnel's Access settings. Turn on Require basic auth, then Add user with a username and password. This is required: the agent keeps the file manager unavailable until Basic auth is enabled and has a user.
2. Run the agent
Install or update the agent on the machine holding that folder. For Linux or macOS:
curl -fsSL https://cdn.kepeink.hu/install.sh | sudo sh -s -- --token=kpt_xxxxxxxx
See Install the Agent for Windows or other ways to run it.
3. Check the URL
Open the tunnel's assigned HTTPS URL. Sign in with the Basic auth user you added, then try a small upload and download. Changes affect the folder on the agent machine. If the URL stays unavailable, check that the access policy has an enabled Basic auth user and that the agent can read and write the folder.
